Am 2. Juli 2022 veranstaltete MUSIK DER JUGEND gemeinsam mit 16 jungen Künstler/inne/n aus ganz Europa den Flashmob YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC in Wien/MuseumsQuartier. Daraus entstanden ist ein Video, anzusehen unter folgendem Link:

(AT) Klassische Musik für eine breite Öffentlichkeit, und vor allem für eine jugendliche, urbane Zielgruppe attraktivieren. Dieses Ziel verfolge YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC im Projektjahr 2022 und die Wettbewerbsorganisation MUSIK DER JUGEND hat sich daher ein neues Konzept überlegt. MUSIK DER JUGEND lud dazu von 30. Juni bis 3. Juli 2022 16 junge Musiker/innen und Künstler/innen aus ganz Europa zu einem Workshop nach Wien, eine der Welthauptstädte der Musik, ein. Das Ergebnis war ein Flashmob, der im Haupthof des Museumsquartiers aufgeführt worden ist.
Ein modernes Arrangement von „Ode an die Freude“ wurde von Studierenden der Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien unter der Leitung von Julia Purgina erstellt und begleitet. Bei der künstlerischen Inszenierung unterstützten Studierende der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz. Die Produktion wurde im Rahmen eines Workshops geprobt und im Tonstudio tonzauber professionell aufgenommen. Um dem digitalen Anspruch des Projektes zu entsprechen, wurde das Projekt live und auf Video dokumentiert und auf den Social-Media-Kanälen Facebook und Instagram verbreitet.
YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC ist Teil des EU-Projektes B.R.A.N.D. NEW, das in Kooperation mit der EMCY (European Union of Music Competitions for Youth) durchgeführt wird. Gefördert wird YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC von Creative Europe sowie vom Bundesministerium für Kunst, Kultur, öffentlicher Dienst und Sport.
(EN) To make classical music attractive for a broad public, and especially for a young, urban target group. YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC aims to achieve this goal even more strongly in the project year 2022 and the MUSIK DER JUGEND competition organisation has therefore come up with a new concept. MUSIK DER JUGEND has invite 16 young musicians from all over Europe from 30 June to 3 July 2022 to a workshop in Vienna, one of the world capitals of music. The result is a final concert that will be performed at a well-frequented and touristically attractive location.
A modern arrangement of "Ode to Joy" has be created and accompanied by students of the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna. Students from the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz assist with the artistic staging. The production will be rehearsed in a workshop and professionally recorded in the tonzauber recording studio. To meet the digital demands of the project, it will be documented live and on video and disseminated on the social media channels Facebook and Instagram.
YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC is part of the EU project B.R.A.N.D. NEW, which is being carried out in cooperation with the EMCY (European Union of Music Competitions for Youth). YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC is funded by Creative Europe and the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport.

(EN) Three countries, three ensembles, three locations – one concert on 2 October 2021: YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC wants to inspire new and younger audiences for the world of classical music with an online and live concert. An experience that overcomes national borders and makes digital possibilities visible.
The three ensembles Quintetto colorante from Austria, Piano Trio Alla Mente from Lithuania and Trio Sonos venti from Luxembourg have been working together over the past months in online workshops on the following topics: Concert organisation and performance, marketing and social media, programme and music education, moderation and presentation and digital performance technology. Knowledge that will benefit them in the future as musicians.
The digital and hybrid concert was on 2 October 2021: A joint concert has taken place in all three countries on the same day, at the same time, which could be experienced live but was also broadcast online. A concert that had opened up an online and offline experience for the audience.
YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC is part of the EU project B.R.A.N.D. NEW, which MUSIK DER JUGEND (AT) is implementing in cooperation with EMCY (European Union of Music Competitions for Youth) and the partner organisations UGDA Music School (LUX) and Center for International Cultural Projects (LTU). YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC will be implemented in two project phases.

Oktober 2021: YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC will mit einem Online- und Live-Konzert neue und jüngere Publikumsschichten für die Welt der klassischen Musik begeistern. Ein Erlebnis, das räumliche Grenzen überwindet und digitale Möglichkeiten (be)greifbar macht.
Die drei Ensembles Quintetto colorante aus Österreich, Piano Trio Alla Mente aus Litauen und Trio Sonos venti aus Luxemburg beschäftigten sich in den vergangenen Monaten gemeinsam in Online-Workshops mit folgenden Themen: Konzertorganisation und -durchführung, Marketing und Social Media, Programm und Musikvermittlung, Moderation und Präsentation sowie digitale Aufführungstechnik. Wissen, das ihnen für die Zukunft als Musiker/in zu Gute kommt.
Am 2. Oktober 2021 fand in allen drei Ländern am selben Tag zur selben Uhrzeit ein gemeinsames Konzert statt, das live erlebbar, aber auch online übertragen wurde. Ein Konzert, das dem Publikum eine On- und Offline-Erfahrung eröffnete.

For all 11 young musicians, it is a privilege to participate in this extraordinary and international project: ‘As musicians in the 21st century, it is important to go with time and try out new possibilities of sharing music with others. Therefore the YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC project is such a great opportunity to go beyond one’s comfort zone and try out new formats of making and sharing music.’
Quintetto colorante
(EN) The ensemble Quintetto colorante is a woodwind quintet founded in 2019 with five young musicians from Upper Austria. They got to know each other in the context of orchestra and chamber music projects and were enthusiastic about the idea of making music together in an ensemble. Their first big goal, the provincial competition of prima la musica 2020, made them grow together and new ideas and projects matured in us. Unfortunately, they have not yet been able to put promising concepts into practice due to the current situation. ‘We were all the more pleased when we became aware of the YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC project, as it offers us the space and the opportunity to gain joint experience despite the currently difficult circumstances’, so the young musicians.
‘It is a great concern of ours to follow the zeitgeist of our digitalised world and to deal with digital formats, concert organisation and social media. Especially recently, we have become more and more aware that other aspects are extremely important besides diligent practising. A musician in the 21st century is no longer characterised by the sole mastery of his or her instrument, but above all by his or her ability to offer a musical experience. This project offers us the perfect opportunity to further educate our musical personalities. We see it as a great opportunity to deepen our skills in music education, stage presence and the use of digital stages.’
(AT) Das Ensemble Quintetto colorante ist ein 2019 gegründetes Holzbläserquintett mit fünf jungen Musikerinnen und Musikern aus Oberösterreich. Paul Rischanek, Clara Hinterholzer, Lydia Küllinger, Maximilian Riefellner und Thomas Mayrhuber lernten sich bei Orchester- und Kammermusikprojekten kennen und waren begeistert von der Idee, in einem Ensemble gemeinsam zu musizieren. Ihr erstes großes Ziel, der Landeswettbewerb von prima la musica 2020, ließ die fünf zusammenwachsen und neue Ideen und Projekte reifen. Vielversprechende Konzepte konnten aufgrund der aktuellen Situation leider noch nicht in die Tat umgesetzt werden. Umso mehr freuen sie sich, beim Projekt YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC mitwirken zu können, da dieses den Raum und die Möglichkeit dazu bietet, trotz der momentan schwierigen Umstände gemeinsame Erfahrungen zu sammeln.
„Uns ist es ein großes Anliegen, dem Zeitgeist unserer digitalisierten Welt zu folgen und uns mit digitalen Formaten, Konzertorganisation und sozialen Medien auseinanderzusetzen. Vor allem in letzter Zeit ist uns immer mehr bewusst geworden, dass neben fleißigem Üben auch andere Aspekte überaus wichtig sind. Eine Musikerin/ein Musiker im 21. Jahrhundert zeichnet sich nicht nur mehr durch das alleinige Beherrschen seines Instruments aus, sondern vor allem auch durch seine Fähigkeit, ein Musikerlebnis zu bieten. Dieses Projekt bietet uns die perfekte Möglichkeit, unsere Musikerpersönlichkeiten weiterzubilden. Wir sehen darin eine große Chance unsere Kompetenzen in Musikvermittlung, Bühnenpräsenz und Nutzung digitaler Bühnen zu vertiefen“, so die fünf Musiker/innen aus Österreich.
Piano Trio Alla Mente
(EN) Viktorija Vorobjovaitė, Rugilė Juknevičiūtė, Pijus Česaitis are Piano Trio Alla Mente. All of them have been studying at the National M.K.Čiurlionis School of Arts since the first grade and started playing together in September 2020. Even though all three of them usually appeared as soloists. But when they started playing together, they realized that they are able to revel the immense power of music by simply fostering the musical ideas together. The young musicians from Lithuania realized that they are united by common values and inexhaustible love of music. The three are the youngest ensemble of the YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC project and they hope that this project will help to get to know the music world better and will motivate them to achieve goals and implement future projects. ‘Thank you for this opportunity’, so the young musicians.
(LIT)Mes, Piano Trio Alla Mente, Nacionalinėje M.K.Čiurlionio menų mokykloje mokomės nuo pat pirmos klasės, o groti kartu pradėjome nuo 2020 metų rugsėjo. Nors visi trys dažniausiai pasirodome solistų amplua, tačiau pradėję groti kartu supratome, kad didžioji muzikos galia atsiskleidžia bendrai puoselėjant muzikines idėjas. Supratime, jog mus vienija bendros vertybės ir neišsenkanti meilė muzikai. Tikimės, jog šis projektas padės geriau pažinti muzikinio pasaulio užkulisius, motyvuos siekti tikslų ir įgyvendinti ateities projektus. Dėkojame už tokią galimybę.
Trio Sonos venti
(EN) Sonos venti: sounds of the wind. This name refers to the instrument around which this ensemble is built: the flute.
Flutists Sally Nickels and Julie Colin and pianist Jeremy Ney are 3 young musicians from Luxembourg who decided to create this trio in order to participate at the YOUNG DIGITAL CLASSIC project. All three know each other since many years from highschool and their studies at the Music Conservatory in Luxembourg City. In the meantime, Julie has finished her Bachelor studies in the flute class of Denis-Pierre Gustin at the ‘Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie’ in Namur. Sally is currently doing her Bachelor in the flute class of Valerie Debaele at the ‘Conservatorium Maastricht’. Jeremy is studying his Master for piano and pedagogy in the class of Susanna Kadzhoyan at the ‘Hochschule für Künste Bremen’.
How can classical music become available for all generations, for all parts of a society and not only some privileged ones? How can one present this music to younger audiences and create something new out of it? As the 3 young musicians are coming from a very multicultural country and studying at different places in Europe, the international idea is already among them. Why should it be different with music? No language is as international and global as the musical one. And that‘s the trio’s perspective: to play music for national and international audiences and make it available for everyone, using new medias and trying to reach new target groups.
